The platform sits on a removable frame that, when bolted together, forms a solid base, complete with end walls. No ramps are required. Just fill concrete out side the end walls & forget. Concrete footings are required to support each load bearing point of the base frame.

The rail sensors based in-motion weighing system consists of 2 nos. strain gauges embedded in weigh-rails. The strain gauge based sensors convert weight into electrical signal with very high accuracy and stability. Wagon movement on the weigh-rails is identified by track switch placed on either side of the rails to detect the direction, type of wagon, start and stop weighments and also to eliminate weight of the engines.
The signals from the rail sensors and track switches are fed into the Intelligent Terminal for digital display/computer for print out. The system automatically monitors the movement of wagon to initiate the weight cycle & to record weight of the wagon which rolls on the weigh-rails.
The approach rails are rigidly connected with weigh-rails through standard fish plates and both the rail tops are maintained at the same level. A concrete slab of length 15 meter is provided below the weigh-rails to avoid any unwanted soil settlement. The sleepers supporting the weigh-rails are embedded in to this concrete and grouted. This avoids up/down movement of the rail sensors when the wagons roll over and ensures smooth load transfer to the rail sensors.
